How to Enable the Performance Page on Your Instrument Cluster

If you’ve been wondering how to access the Performance Page on your instrument cluster, the good news is that the feature is already built into your vehicle’s system — it’s just not enabled by default.

With a quick adjustment using FORScan, you can activate this feature in just a few minutes. No wiring, no additional hardware, and no physical modifications are required. This is a simple software-based change that unlocks additional functionality already present in your vehicle.

What You’ll Need

Before getting started, make sure you have a laptop with FORScan installed and a compatible OBD2 adapter connected to your vehicle. The ignition should be on, and the vehicle safely parked.

All changes are done through software, so no disassembly or hardware installation is needed.

Step-by-Step: Enabling the Performance Page

Start by opening FORScan and navigating to the Configuration and Programming section. From there, locate the IPC (Instrument Panel Cluster) module and select the As-Built format.

Once inside, find the following line:

720-17-01

You will see a coding format that looks like this:

xxxx-xxxx-xxxx

The last two characters are automatically generated checksum values. These should not be modified under any circumstances.

The only value you need to change is within the final block. Specifically, you will be modifying the second digit of the last group. It will be the "X" in xxxx-xxxx-xXxx.

On most Ford Police Interceptor Utility models, this value is typically set to:

4

To enable the Performance Page, change this value to:

6

Make sure that all other values remain exactly the same.

After making the change, click the Write All button at the bottom to save the new configuration. Confirm the prompt when it appears.

Once the write process is complete, turn the ignition off and then back on to allow the system to reset.

Accessing the Performance Page

After enabling the feature, the Performance Page will now be available within your instrument cluster menu.

You can navigate through the cluster interface using the steering wheel controls. Depending on your configuration, the Performance Page may display additional vehicle data and performance-related information.

Real-World Results

We’ve tested this configuration change across multiple Ford Police Interceptor Utility models, and the Performance Page consistently activates without requiring any additional modifications.

This is a straightforward and reliable way to unlock a hidden feature using FORScan, with no impact on existing vehicle functions.
