The 2020–2024 Ford Police Interceptor Utility comes from the factory with a heavy-duty Class III tow hitch built directly into its structure—a design choice by Ford to achieve the vehicle’s rear 75-mph crash rating. While the hitch is present on every unit, the vehicles were never equipped with the trailer wiring needed to make the 7-way connector functional. This leaves owners with a hitch that looks ready for towing, but in reality cannot be used as intended. Our OEM Trailer Hitch Wiring Kit solves this limitation by activating the hitch system with factory-spec wiring, connectors, and modules. Once installed, the rear 7-way trailer connector becomes fully operational, exactly as if Ford had offered the towing package from the factory.
